THE 2024 HARVEST - A PROMISING VINTAGE FOR CHÂTEAU SAINTE MARGUERITE:
Harvesting began on the night of August 19, starting with Château Sainte Marguerite's signature grape variety, Grenache, in the Mediterranean coastal plots. The harvest continued with Rolle, ending on September 11 with Cinsault.
Harvesting began as soon as the grapes had reached optimum ripeness - the right balance between sugar and acidity levels - and demonstrated both a fine aromatic palette and lively freshness.
Olivier and Enzo Fayard, the brothers and winemaking duo behind Château Sainte Marguerite, worked closely with their teams on a rigorous analysis of the grapes before deciding on the ideal time to start harvesting.
2024 was a harmonious year, with a rainy spring followed by a hot, dry summer. August brought warm days and cool nights, excellent conditions for harvesting.
One of this year's most exciting challenges was harvesting the latest addition to Château Sainte Marguerite: Aux Terres de Ravel and its 280 hectares of vineyards.
For Château Sainte Marguerite, each of its emblematic grape varieties - Rolle, Grenache and Cinsault - expresses the nuances of the terroir in which they are grown. These grape varieties, combined with the unique terroir of Château Sainte Marguerite, give birth to wines that are gourmet, fruity and mineral, offering authentic pleasure with every tasting.
"The 2024 harvest has all the characteristics we're looking for: a fine aromatic palette, with notes of white fruit, white flowers and citrus, and excellent overall potential for our wines," says Olivier Fayard.
